THE HIP-KNEE CONNECTION: A yoga workshop for active people with knee pain

THE HIP-KNEE CONNECTION:

A yoga workshop for active people with knee pain

With Dr. Katie D’Amato, DPT - Balanced by Katie

Knee pain doesn't just slow you down on the course, trail, or bike path. It affects your whole routine and mindset.

This workshop is for active adults who want to understand what's actually driving their knee pain and do something about it. You'll learn how hip strength and alignment directly affect knee health, and walk away with a movement toolkit you can use right now.

We'll move through physical therapy-informed mobility and strength sequences designed to reduce joint strain, rebuild confidence in your body, and keep you doing the things you love while you heal.

You'll leave with:

  • A clearer picture of the hip-knee relationship and why it matters

  • Targeted mobility and strength work you can do at home that won't harm your knees

  • Practical alignment cues for walking, stairs, cycling, and sport

No prior yoga experience necessary. Wear athletic clothes and bring a mat and a water bottle.

Price: $50

About Katie D’Amato:

A Jersey girl who spent 13 years soaking up San Diego's surf and wellness culture before landing in Portsmouth, Dr. Katie D'Amato, DPT brings a coast-to-coast perspective on what it means to move well and age even better.

Katie founded Balanced by Katie to fill a gap she kept seeing: people who wanted to stay active but kept getting sidelined, and practitioners who treated symptoms without addressing the whole person. Her approach combines clinical sports medicine expertise with yoga principles, with longevity at the center of everything she does. The goal is always the same: keep you doing what you love, with the people you love, for as long as you want.

For the past 9 years she's run her own mobile private practice, brought alignment based vinyasa yoga to studios and university settings, led surf and yoga retreats in Nicaragua, and taken her educational workshops into corporate offices and community spaces alike. She has built a career around meeting people where they are, literally and figuratively. Now she's here in Portsmouth, and the Seacoast is her next community to serve.
