“To be great, be whole. Exclude nothing, exaggerate nothing that is not you.
Be whole in everything. Put all you are into the smallest thing you do.
So, in each lake, the moon shines with splendor because it blooms up above.”

JOHANNA BELL
Johanna Bell is a lifelong mover, artist, teacher, and ordained Interfaith/Interspiritual Minister whose work lives at the meeting place of embodiment, spirituality, creativity, and the sacred human experience.
A former professional dancer, actor, singer, choreographer, and spontaneous mystic, Johanna discovered yoga as a language that could bring her many worlds together. Her teaching draws from more than two decades of study and practice, including 500-hour training with Sri Dharma Mittra, more than 500 hours of Kundalini Yoga Therapy with Guru Dharam Khalsa, Prana Flow with Shiva Rea, and Non-Dual Tantra with Sally Kempton and Christopher Tompkins. She is also an ongoing student of shamanic practice.
Johanna is the founder of Illumina Yoga and its teacher-training programs, which are rooted in her signature approach, Full Spectrum Sequencing. Her heart-child, Full Spectrum weaves intelligent movement with music, poetry, metaphor, mythology, breath, and contemplative practice, inviting students beyond the mechanics of asana and into a soulful, (sometimes sweaty) journey into the heart of what it means to be human. Her teaching is rooted in the belief that the body is not separate from the spiritual path, but one of its most intimate doorways.
Known as a teacher of teachers, Johanna is passionate about helping yoga teachers discover and trust their own authentic voice. Through Illumina’s teacher-training programs, she mentors teachers in the art of creating meaningful, intelligent, and deeply personal experiences for their students.
Johanna holds a Master of Divinity and is a Core Faculty member at All Paths Divinity School, where she teaches and mentors students in embodied spirituality and interspiritual practice. Her own spiritual practice continues to be supported by the humor and wisdom of mystic and author Andrew Harvey.
She lives in South Freeport, Maine, with her husband Jim and daughter Lucia, where family, nature, yoga, ministry, and the ongoing adventure of Life's journey continue to shape her work.

MARIA WAGNOR
My yoga practice is a devotion to engage with the full spectrum of life. Rooted in Bhakti Yoga and Tantra, my classes are Heart-centered and intend, through the journey into the Self, to connect us to the infinite.
Designed around a specific energetic theme, my vinyasa classes weave together asana, mudra, moving metaphors, breath, mantra, archetypal energies, and music to explore the wonder of nature and the depth of this human experience. Through a unified theme, we go on a journey together, while leaving room for the individual experience - I offer questions for reflection and options within the asana to make the practice your own. The physical sequencing is cyclical; the postures build on themselves, embedding choices to stay in foundational variations or play with deepening complexity as the class goes on. Breath, presence, and self-compassion are prioritized; deep reverence and a sense of humor go hand in hand.
I began practicing yoga in 2009 in the tradition of B.K.S. Iyengar with Melora Gregory. With a strong foundation in asana alignment, I discovered vinyasa flow and fell in love with the way that the practice embodies the rising and falling, always-changing nature of life. I am a graduate of Sonic Yoga's 200 hr and Illumina Yoga's 300 hr teacher trainings, both under the guidance of Johanna Bell, and am now honored to be on the teaching faculty of Illumina Yoga's trainings. As a teacher of new teachers, I specialize in guiding others to source inspiration and transform it into a full spectrum classroom journey.
I offer gratitude and reverence to all of the teachers who have skillfully and ethically transmitted the powerful teachings of yoga from their roots in South Asia to our studios today, and to those who continue to guide Yoga’s evolution with care.
