Yin Yoga Workshop


This workshop will be an exploration of yin yoga, which is a therapeutic practice that focuses on the health and flexibility of our body’s connective “yin” tissues. Many exercises, sports, and styles of yoga emphasize muscular effort, strength, and contraction. Yin yoga is just the opposite; it encourages the sensation and stretch to permeate deeper into the less elastic connections in the body, including ligaments, cartilage, and fascia, to improve range of motion by appropriately stressing these tissues so they stay healthy, lubricated, and durable. Postures are held for 3-5 minutes, and are supported with yoga props when necessary.

Class will be led by Niki Floros, who is trained in Yin Yoga. This class will leave you feeling mentally calm, balanced, with the added benefit of refreshing energy channels within the body. Join Niki on Sunday April 3rd, from 3:30-5:00pm at the York studio.
